Tampa Armature Works Tour

Did you know that Tampa is home to a place that brings all the food, fun, and drinks together that you could ever want? In this episode of Hounds, Hops, and Houses, I’m going to take you on a tour of Armature Works, an amazing mixed-use commercial space you’ve got to check out. I’ll be joined by local realtor Vanessa Guevara as we explore all the food, drinks, and activities this place has to offer.

Exploring Armature Works

Vanessa Guevara, a real estate agent with Charles Rutenberg Realty, is a regular at Armature Works. It’s one of her favorite places, and she’s excited to show it off. This mixed-use commercial building used to be the maintenance facility for TECO, which is Tampa Electric’s streetcars. In 2014, they opened Armature Works as it is today.

Since then, it’s become a very, very popular place to hang out—especially here in the Seminole Heights downtown area. It’s a cool place to hang out that gets pretty busy, and there are a few different ways you can get here. Whether you come by car or walk on the Riverwalk, there are plenty of options.

Additionally, the outdoor space is pet-friendly, so feel free to bring your dog. While you can’t bring them inside, you can either order food to be brought to you or bring a friend to hold your furry companion. The outside space has a lot of bar areas as well where you can grab a drink.

Food And Drink Options

The Heights Public Market inside of Armature Works features a variety of restaurants. At 22,000 square feet, the space is huge. There are a ton of different options that include a variety of restaurants, cooking classes, wine tastings, and more.

Vanessa often brings her kids to enjoy Ava Pizza, an amazing place that her little ones love. As a sushi lover, Zukku Sushi is another one of Vanessa’s favorites. You can find everything from small plates and seafood to coffee, providing you with everything you could want.

In addition to the food options at Heights Public Market, there are some awesome restaurants with amazing views and outdoor dining. The patios usually have misters and fans to keep you cool, though you might want to stick to nights in the Florida summer.

The Tampa Heights Neighborhood

Armature Works is built into an awesome neighborhood and a community. Located right on the water, you’ll find the beginning of the Tampa Riverwalk. At 2.6 miles long, this path will take you right to downtown and all of the venues the area has to offer.

It’s for this and many other reasons that the Tampa Heights area is a hot market to buy in. There are so many options and so many things to do. During the weekends, you can enjoy live music, bars, and a waterpark to enjoy with the kids that’s free of charge. They also have movie nights you won’t want to miss.

Tampa Heights is close to downtown Tampa, and Ybor City is not too far. It’s also very close to the airport, highways, and restaurants. The area has grown leaps and bounds in the last 20 years, and the housing market is super hot. Homes don’t last at all, so it’s definitely a great place to live.

One of the coolest parts of this area is the water taxi. You can take it from downtown and travel around the whole area, getting off at the bars, having some drinks, and hopping back on. It’s pretty cool for a family event, and if you want to bring your friends it’s an amazing thing to do.
